Micromax Canvas Magnus A117 with 12 MegaPixel Camera

A latest model phone has joined the Micromax’s Canvas series of smartphones. The phablet Canvas Magnus A – 117 is priced a Rs14,999.

To recap on the specifications, the Canvas Magnus A117 flaunts a 5-inch IPS HD 1280×720 pixels display. This means the phone is not full HD as compared to the Canvas Turbo which was launched in October.

It is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core MT6589T processor paired with 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded to up to 32GB using a microSD card.

The main attraction of the device that runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is its camera. The 12-megapixel rear camera has a LED flash while the Turbo has 13-megapixel. Yet their prices differ by Rs5,000. Other features include a 2-megapixel front camera, 4x zoom and night-mode to take pictures in the night.

Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots and a 2,000mAh battery that supports seven hours of continous talk time and 180 hours of standby time, as claimed by Micromax.

The ‘look away’ feature pauses a video being played as soon as you look away from the screen. To answer a call all one needs to do is place the phone near the ear.

A117 comes pre-loaded with M!Live, M!Unlock, M!Security and Kingsoft Office. The Canvas Magnus A117 belongs to the likes of Zen Amaze Ultrafone 701 FHD, Xolo Play T1000 and Wammy Passion Z+.

Canvas 2, Canvas 2 Plus, Canvas Lite, Canvas Music, Canvas 3D, Canvas HD, Canvas 4, Canvas Doodle and Canvas Doodle are the Canvas models launched before Turbo and Magnus.
