Lenovo Vibe Z with 5.5 inch Display

Amidst tight competition in the phablet sector, Lenovo has announced the Vibe Z model in order to strengthen their stand. The first in this series of phablets, Vibe X was introduced in September. Though the screen on the Vibe X is 5″, the Vibe Z is bigger by half an inch. That means 5.5″.

The display is full HD at 1920 x 1080, IPS LCD and with a PPI of 400 that increases display quality. The processor is quad-core and clocks in at 2.2GHz and makes use of the Snapdragon 800 processor.

This processor is already being used in Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Sony Xperia Z 1. The Vibe Z has 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory and micro SD card slot and is powered by Adreno 330 GPU.

The new handset also comes with 13MP Sony IMX135 camera along with Exmor-RS sensor on the rear, as well as featuring a f/1.8 lens and dual-LED flash. The front facing camera has a 84° wide-angle lens which is 5 megapixels. Its rear camera is capable of recording and viewing full HD videos.

Though it is a dual-sim phone, there may be changes depending on the networks in different countries. In European countries where 3G is available, one of the two sim cards will support this service. In other places, it will differ in CDMA, 3G and 2G.

The Lenovo Vibe Z can deliver up to 278.5 hours of standby time; however the battery has not been detailed by the company.

Further, Lenovo has also launched a flip cover for Vibe Z phablet, similar to the Samsung’s S View and LG’s Quick Window.

The Lenovo Vibe Z include a thickness of 7.9mm and will be available for pre-order in China shortly. And so far, no word on when or if the Lenovo Vibe Z will reach other markets or its price details.
