The name ‘Veneno’ reminds us of the notorious fighting bull from Spian that shocked audiences by fatally goring the famous bullfighter Jose Sanchez Rodriguez in 1914. It was one of the strongest and most aggressive fighting bulls ever. So when it came time for Lamborghini to name its ultra-exclusive and most expensive model, the killer bull was an obvious choice – Lamborghini Veneno. The car with a rear end that looks right out of a Batman movie has a price tag that is sure to make jaws drop – 3 million Euros (INR 25.14 crores).
The Lamborghini Veneno, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of Lamborghini, is poised to become one of the most sought-after supercars in the world. The Veneno boasts a 6.5-liter V12 boosted to 740 horsepower, enough to thrust this car to a top speed of 100 kph in 2.8 seconds. It’s maximum speed is 335 kph.
The model that weighs 1446.96 kg has been designed with the best aero dynamics by the Italian company Lamborghini. Its design is consistently focused on optimum aerodynamics and carbon-intensive construction giving the Veneno the real dynamic experience of a racing prototype. The Veneno also features seven-speed ISR gearbox. But only three of the new Lamborghini Venenos will be built and sold; and they already have buyers. Next year Lamborghini will unveil just seven cars. The Veneno was unveiled at a Geneva motor show this year. Each car carried a different colour from Italy’s national flag – green, white and red.
