Asus launched two new products Transformer Book T100 & Fonepad 7

The Taiwan company Asus had launched two new products in the Indian market as part of their Diwali offer.

The Asus Transformer Book T100 (acts as both a tablet and laptop) and the Fonepad 7 (modified version of Fonepad tablet) will be available from November 1.

Key to the Transformer Book’s design is the 10.1-inch, 1366 x 768 pixel resolution touchscreen that can be separated from the keyboard dock in order to function as a separate tablet. The device with HDIPS display is priced at INR 34,099.

The T100 offers a quad core 1.33GHz processor and is paired with 2GB RAM. It also supports Intel HD Graphics. The Transformer T100 includes a 32GB built-in eMMC storage that can be expanded up to another 32GB with a microSD card, and Asus 5GB WebStorage.

It runs Windows 8.1. Connectivity options on the tablet are USB 3.0, Micro-HDMI, and Wi-Fi Bluetooth 4.0. The tablet features a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera.

The company claims that the Transformer Book T100 can deliver up to 11 hours of battery life. In laptop mode, the Transformer Boook T100 weighs 1.07Kg and in tablet mode it weighs 55grams and has a thickness of 10.5 mm.

The ASUS Transformer Book T100 features an ASUS SonicMaster audio technology for audio enhancement and a ‘Reading Mode’ technology which adjusts the display automatically to make the screen easier to read for long periods. It also has an ‘instant ON’ option that lasts for up to 14 days.

The ASUS Transformer Book T100 is bundled with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote). However one of the biggest drawbacks of the Transformer Book is that it has less memory as compared to other laptops that are almost as expensive.

Meanwhile, Asus has launched the new version of its Fonepad 7 tablet in India for INR17,499. It has the same 7-inch 1280×800 display.

The tablet, which also comes with voice calling support, runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
It is powered by a dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor with 1GB RAM.
Asus Fonepad 7 will be available in 16GB onboard storage options and a microSDHC card slot for expansion up to 64GB. The tablet also comes with 5GB of Asus WebStorage.

It includes a 1.2-megapixel front facing camera, and a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera with 1080p full-HD video recording.

The new Asus voice-calling tablet comes with a 3950mAh battery that gives up to 28 hours of 3G talk time, 35 days of standby time and up to 10 hours of video playback.

The device comes with some custom apps like SuperNote app for drafting notes and the Floating App that helps users multi-task by giving them the option to open up to six apps simultaneously onscreen.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi and built-in 3G. Asus Fonepad 7’s strong competitors include Micromax Canvas Tab P 650 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
